Your emotions are going to show up before stressful moments. That’s just what they do. If you felt stressed out about the homecoming dance, do you know what else you’ll probably feel stressed out about? Prom. If you felt stressed out about prom, do you know what else you’ll probably feel stressed out about? Your sorority formal in college.

That’s when enough gets loud. It will tell you, “If I was popular enough, I wouldn’t feel stressed out about homecoming, prom, or the winter formal.” But that’s not true, because enough is a myth.

So, the first soundtrack I want you to write down is exactly that: “Enough is a myth.”

Every time you hear the word enough pop into your head, I want you to tell yourself, “Enough is a myth.” Don’t chase it. Don’t give it your valuable time, energy, or creativity. Don’t let the lie of enough distract you from a soundtrack that’s true and a whole lot more fun: “I’m the best at being me.” You are. Even if you don’t feel like it sometimes, you’re the best you because you’re the only you. There are 7 billion people on the planet and there’s only one you.

There’s only one L.E. Acuff. Am I perfect? Nope. Do I have it all figured out? Of course not. Am I a continual work in progress? Without a doubt. But working on myself patiently is a lot different from running after enough.

Why? Because progress is possible, but enough is a myth.
